Produced from 1866 to the late 1880s with a total production of approximately 8,000. These pistols feature a unique pivoting breechblock. The top of the barrel is marked "CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANFG CO NAUBUC CONN." and the top of the breechblock is marked "PATENTED OCT. 25. 1864" and the serial number is marked on the frame under the grip, and stamped on the inside of the left grip panel. Brass blade front sight and a notch in the breechblock release button serves as the rear sight. Casehardened frame, hammer, breechblock and trigger, blue barrel and fitted with two piece checkered brown hard rubber grips. The pistol is complete with an original two piece box with a bullet block with six original 44 rimfire cartridges.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 95% original bright blue finish with some surface rust flaking and scattered oxidation. The breechblock and frame retain 60% original case colors with areas darkening with age, some fading to smooth silver gray and a couple areas of minor oxidation. The grips are also excellent with a few minor scuffs and scratches, and crisp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. The mechanics are excellent. The box is fair with some heavy wear, staining and edge separation.
