Confederate issue Leech & Rigdon, .36 caliber Navy size percussion revolver remaining in good original condition, serial number 1013. All matching except the cylinder which is numbered 1029. The right bottom grip shows a “S.C.”inspection. The grips and all other numbers are matching except the wedge which is numbered 7739 and is an old working replacement. A couple of minor screws are replaced. Illustrated in an article entitled “Identification andAuthentication of Confederate Handguns” by Bill Gary for the American Society of Arms Collectors bulletin number 49. The metal surfaces show some light to moderate pitting and erosion with good edges and a good barrel address that is fullylegible and reads “Leech & Rigdon, C S A”. The grips are good with a pleasing color and some slight wear at the edges and normal aging. The pistol works well and is fairly tight. The metal shows some typical striations and Confederatemetal forging flaws. The overall appearance is pleasing. The collection of William A. Gary consigned by his estate. Est.: $14,000-$28,000
