<B>Confederate Statesman and Officer Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry Typed Letter Signed</B></I> “<I>J. L. M. Curry</B></I>”. One page, 8” x 10”, Washington, February 27, 1893, to Darwin C. Pavey, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The letter reads in part: “I am too busy a man to have time to write any account of the personal or general history of the war between the States…The only survivors of the Provisional Congress, which first met in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1861, are, Chief Justice Campbell,…William P. Miles,…and myself…Texas sent in her deputies, one of whom is the Hon. John H. Reagan.” Curry was a lawyer, soldier, U. S. Congressman, college professor, diplomat, and lieutenant colonel in the Confederate army serving as a staff aide to Generals Joseph Johnston and Joseph Wheeler.
