<B>Confederate Major General John B. Magruder Autograph Letter Signed,</B></I> “<I>J. Bankhead Magruder,</B></I>” one page, 5” x 8.25”, New York City, October 10, 1867, to a Mr. L. I. List, location unknown. It reads in part, “<I>I did not receive any letter from you…If you will let me know what you desire, I will take pleasure in answering you…</B></I>”. Tipped-in along the left margin to a collector's biographical leaf, else very fine condition.<BR>A West Pointer and career officer, Magruder chose the Civil War's losing side in 1861 and fled to Mexico in 1865.
