Leonidas Polk autograph note signed, ''L. Polk'' to the bottom of an original telegram he received regarding supplies from a Capt. Mallory from Memphis sometime in 1861. Polk write a short note to General Gideon Pillow, asking him to ''write to me a reply.'' South-Western Telegraph Company telegram measures 5.5'' x 8.5'' with ink smudging throughout and some minor folds and toning. Else very good.
