<B>Confederate Douglas H. Cooper Document Signed as Commander of the Choctaw and Chickasaw Rifles</B></I> “<I>Douglas H. Cooper</B></I>”. One page, 7.5” x 9.5”, “<I>Camp Arbuckle Creek</B></I>”, August 2, 1861. In this letter Colonel Cooper, later Brigadier General Cooper, signs a furlough for a private to go on temporary leave back home to Carthage, Texas for an unstated purpose.
