Six pieces of Confederate paper currency, four from Alabama and two from the federal government. The four from Alabama are three 50-cent and one 25-cent , all with the printed signature of governor John Gill Shorter; the federal pieces are both Series 1 50-cent sixth issue notes, both dated February 17, 1864, and featuring a bust portrait of Jefferson Davis, and no red stamps. Fifty-cent notes rate fine condition, with light creasing and wear; Alabama notes rate good to very good with one having a partial tear, and others creased and faded.
