Jackson's Official Report of the Capture of Harper's Ferry- 'God Crowned Our Arms with another Brilliant Success'..." <BR><B><I>The Charleston Mercury,</B></I></B></I> June 16, 1863- two page issue with much front page news of the war in general and Vicksburg in particular. <BR><B><I>Charleston Daily Courier,</B></I></B></I> October 29, 1864- two page issue, lead story "Fighting on the North Side- Enemy Signally Repulsed- Our Loss Insignificant..." <BR><B><I>The Tri-Weekly Mercury,</B></I></B></I> December 22, 1864- a two page issue with war news and a long report on "The Inauguration of Governor Magrath" and great front page ads.
