<B>Confederate Bowie Knife Carried By Mosby Ranger John Hume</B></I> 14” overall length, 9” blade, bone or ivory hilt, silver mount and guard, <I>“Queen's / Cutlery Works / Sheffield”</B></I> on ricasso, <I>“Mapin / Brothers”</B></I> and <I>“The Hunter's Companion / Warranted Not To Be / Excelled In Quality”</B></I> on blade, square, beveled silver pommel inset engraved <I>“J.H. Va.”,</B></I> knife housed in stitched leather sheath. The engraved pommel serves to identify this fine Sheffield import as belonging to John Hume of Mosby's famous partisan command.
