<B>Confederate Blockade Runner Bond. The Chicora Company</B></I> was famous for its importing and exporting business and owned the famous paddlewheel steamers <I>The General Beauregard,</B></I> <I>The Chicora</B></I> and <I>The Wando.</B></I> The bearer "George W. Williams" is entitled to one share for $1,000. Dated February 6, 1865 this certificate measures 8.25" x 5" and is printed on typical blue imported paper. These bonds were sold to build blockade-runners for the South and this one even has a red ink payment notation for July 20, 1869.
