Datelined 12 August 1863, Shreveport, Louisiana, partly printed receipt for the purchase of cloth and buttons. Also signed by Quartermaster Nat A. Birge of Monroe, LA. The 12th Texas Cavalry was engaged at Cache River, Arkansas and Yellow Bayou, Louisiana. Document measures 5.5'' x 8''. Toning throughout, overall excellent condition.
