Lot of five checks where five different mining superintendents are paying themselves. 1) Agency of the Bank of California. Dec. 22, 1870. John W. Mackay is paying himself $300 (a Christmas bonus?). Nevada 2 cent adhesive over federal 2 cent adhesive. Cut cancel. 2) Agency of the Nevada Bank of SF, Savage Mining Co., RN-F, 1876, F.F. Osbiston. 3) Two different Wells Fargo RN-G Savage checks, both 1880, two different superintendents paying themselves: Kelley and Buckminster. 4) Bank of California, Savage Mining Co., 1897 issued to and signed by H.M.
