The burgonet helmet has a 2-piece welded skull with rolled roped edges and flower embossed cheek guards. The gorget, breastplate, backplate, upper arm defenses and tassets are all matching with a ribbed scale design. The breast plate has a large embossed cross at top center. The anime style back plate appears to be a composite of period and replacement parts. The munitions grade mitten gauntlets are late 16th century. The rondels appear to be of a different style and have a ribbed design with a 1 inch spike in the center and roped outside edge. There is a black and pink quilted silk gambeson underneath the harness. The greaves and sabatons are a late 15th century Gothic style. With a 17th century 97 inch long halberd with decorative piercing on the blade and a brass studded angular shaft. There is also a 22 1/4 inch diameter cast iron parade style shield showing the judgement of Paris. There is a bracket on the rear at the top and a small circular stamp at the bottom rear. Stands 70 inches tall x 23 inches wide x 20 inches deep without the halberd and has a black painted wooden base that measures 10 inches tall x 18 1/2 inches wide x 18 1/2 inches deep. Very good, there is a dark patina overall with some scattered minor pitting. The back plate has three correct lames at the bottom with the rest restored. The gauntlets have been restored. The right arm defense leather is broken. The halberd has the top point broken, some cracking/chipping on the right side, and a replacement shaft. The shield is fair with a dark aged patina overall and the top right section has an almost black patina and has been reattached. An excellent example of armor smithing from a master craftsman!
