(Hanna-Barbera Studios, 1968) Original complete episode of production storyboard drawings from Fantastic Four, 30 pages, each featuring nine panels, for the episode entitled “The Fantastic Four in The Mysterious Molecule Man.” Accomplished in graphite on untrimmed 12.5 x 10 illustration paper. The story follows the Fantastic Four as their study of a radiated meteor is interrupted when the Molecule Man appears and threatens the public. In the action-packed sequence, the Fantastic Four pursue the Molecule Man and use a piece of the meteor to defeat his superpowers and return him to his normal human form. The storyboard has various notes and revisions throughout, including some in the hand of Joe Barbera. Hanna-Barbera’s 1967–68 TV show was the first animated series based on Marvel’s Fantastic Four comics and lasted just 20 episodes, with this airing as the 17th on January 13, 1968. Complete storyboards from Fantastic Four are excessively rare, and this is just one of three complete storyboards known to exist at present.
