Cards depict Roman personages from Romulus to Augustus, with capsule biographies of each. First issue [103 by 68 mm]. Complete, with intact box. Very good or better. A remarkable set of playing cards designed by Joseph Etienne Jouy and published in 1804 as an instructional aid. An incomplete set sold in last year's New York sale for $1300 hammer.
