<B>Comedy Comics #9 (Timely, 1942) CGC VF+ 8.5 Cream to off-white pages.</B></I> Here's the finest known copy of the first issue of this Timely funny book title (co-starring the superheroes from <B>Daring Mystery</B></I>). Overstreet notes it as a "scarce" issue. Nearly 20 years before he became known as <I>the</B></I> JLA artist, Mike Sekowsky provided the cover art here, with help from George Klein. Bill Everett and Basil Wolverton interior art make this a gem of a Golden Age issue, featuring the first appearance of the Comedy Kid, and also featuring the Fin, Citizen V, Silver Scorpion, and Captain Dash. Overstreet 2007 VF 8.0 value = $1,900; VF/NM 9.0 value = $3,075.
