The lot features an Indian tanned buckskin hide and fringe cut beaded belt pouch attributed to the Comanche Indians. The bag measures 5 inches wide by 5 inches tall without the fringes and is comprised of Indian brain tanned buckskin hide with old sinew and trade thread sewing. There is a flap that covers the opening and a beautifully beaded rosette medallion on the front with hand-rolled tin cone danglers and beads. The long frilly, hide fringes hang off both sides hanging down 13 inches. Drops of small hawk feathers were removed to comply with Federal birds of prey laws previously. Provenance: From the ex-collection of Tom Hardy Indianapolis, Indiana. Said to be circa 1890 from the previous collector, review pictures for age and condition.
