Colt special musket in .58 caliber rifled dated 1862 showing New Jersey markings on breech of barrel and in stock. The rifle remains in very good plus original condition showing bright finish with just some minor erosion and slight pinprick surface pitting. The stock is very good with sharp New Jersey stampings along with inspectors initials O. C. There are some small chips and losses along the ramrod channel but the stock is generally very good plus overall. The rear sight and nipple show considerable original blue finish. The bore is very good plus and still bright with sharp rifling. A 7+ to 8 on a 1 to 10 scale. Est.: $1200-$2400
