Colt single action Army revolver in . 45 long Colt calibers with 7 ½ inch barrel, factory engraved, re-silvered finish, pearl grips, inscribed on back strap, “1916, from Be Ho Gray to George Hubert” in period script,serial number 317105. Factory letter confirms engraving, grips, caliber, barrel length, and lists the original finish as nickel with address of shipment Von Lengerke and Anton, Chicago Illinois. Shipped on March 30, 1911,with one (1) gun in shipment. This single action is illustrated and described in an article for the Rampant Colt magazine in the summer of 2007 by John Pfeifer and now consigned by his estate. The article mentions the creation of the 101 Ranch show in Oklahoma and recants that the Miller brothers were close friends with Bee Ho Gray, George Hubert, Tom Mix, Ken Maynard and other Western notables. He notes that Bee Ho means“brother of the cripple” in the Comanche language and indeed Gray’s brother was handicapped.
