Colt model 1911A1, .45 ACP caliber, semiautomatic pistol, parkerized finish, military grips, in excellent to near mint condition in craft box with two marked and labeled Colt magazines. The pistol is in excellent to near mint condition showing 99% plus original finish, some miniscule losses from operation and storage, but at least excellent overall with bright blue at breech of barrel, and no evidence of firing or use, with bright bore. Full military inspections and US property marks. Also recorded as “one of two thousand shipped to the navy in 1942”. Serial number “794310”. Box is in very good condition with slight discolorations and original wax paper wrapping. Pictured on page 43 of “U.S. Military Automatic Pistols, 1884-1900” by Edward “Scott” Meadows, box pictured on page 200. Est: $6,000 - $9,000
