Colt model 1911A1, .45 ACP caliber semi-automatic pistol serial #2000643, fully and finely engraved in Western motifs with scrimshawed ivory grips and blued finish. The left side of the slide shows silver inlays of Indian on pony and buffalo, top of slide shows silver inlayed of Indian with signal hide, right side of frame shows Indians with rifles approaching wagon train. The balance of the pistol is fully scroll engraved including top, instraps, bottom of frame, and is a D+ grade coverage. The left grip are extra fat well aged ivory, and left grip shows scrimshawed portraits of cowboys and runaway stagecoach scene. The grip is signed “Gigi 81”. The right grip is also scrimshawed with cowboy and saddle, cowboy roping steer, scout and wagon train, also signed “Gigi 81”. The pistol shows a dark reblued finish of which 99% remains. The grips are nicely aged, the interior near excellent. The identity of the engraver is unknown, but the engraving quality is very good and deeply chisel-cut with nicely executed scrolls.
