Colt model 1902, .38 ACP caliber, semiautomatic pistol, US marked, commercial quality blued finish, hardrubber grips, serial number “15068”. One of only two-hundred purchased and tested by the US Military. The right side of frame is marked “JTT” for John T. Thompson and right side of trigger guard bow stamped “RAC” for Renaldo A. Carr. The pistol retains approx. 90-95% original bright blue, some scratches, small marks, and slight losses at the edges. The grips are fine to near excellent. The hammer shows nearly 100% fiery case hardening, and small parts and screws show bright original blue. The interior is excellent, bore bright, a correct nickel-plated magazine showing 1884 patent date is included. An important US military-marked early Colt auto. Est.: $10,000-$20,000.
