Colt model 1900 “sight safety”, second contract, US Property marked, blued finish, checkered wood grips. Serial number “1695”. This Colt shows proper RAC marking on front right side of trigger guard bow, large US on left front trigger guard. The pistol retains 75-85% original blue, some losses at the high points and muzzle, and normal toning and light beginning age with a couple small areas of erosion, pinprick pitting just starting, some minor scratches, losses at handling points and gripping areas, but generally sharp and crisp overall with near excellent grips. Showing bright blue on small parts and screws and fiery case color on hammer and safety which is at least 85% retained. The interior is near excellent, a correct nickel plated 1884 patented magazine is included. A strong example of a desirable martial Colt. Shipped to New York Arsenal and transferred to Manila for field testing. Pictured pages 32-33 in “U.S. Military Automatic Pistols, 1884-1920” by Edward “Scott” Meadows. Est.: $10,000-$20,000.
