Colt model 1878 double-action frontier revolver in .45 long colt caliber, 7-1/2" barrel, nickel and gold plated, New York style scroll engrave with original to the period pearl grips, #2975, made about 1879. The pistol has been nicely restored and refinished with 100% of the nickel, gold, and fire blue trip retained. The engraving is Nimschke in style but has been re-cut or sharpened and we have not verified at factory. Markings good, action good. Very attractive and "showy" with great original period pearl grips and early "fat" straps. Est: $2,000 - $4,000
