Colt model 1878 double-action frontier revolver, .44-40 caliber, 5-1/2” etched barrel, nickel plated, hard-rubber grips, serial #11355. The Colt remains in very good original condition with 75-85% originalnickel evenly drifting and flaking on the barrel, front of cylinder, and edges, the areas where the nickel has flaked show some minor pitting and erosion. The etched panel is 80-90% visible and still frosty. Themarkings are sharp, the edges fairly crisp. The trigger and back of hammer show bright original blue. The grips show chips at the pin area at the back of each grip, otherwise good. The front sight is its full originalheight, the nickel is completely unpolished as found. Action good, bore good.
