Colt model 1877 lightning .38 caliber storekeeper's model, nickel finish, hardrubber grips, factory 2-1/2" barrel, serial #51795, made early 1880's and shows etched barrel. The revolver retains approx. 50-70% original nickel that isflaking and peeling on the cylinder, edges, and muzzle. Areas where nickel has lifted have gone to a light grey with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. The etched panel is still frosty and 100% visible. The grips are good and showsome high point and edge wear to the checkering from carry and use. The action is rotating but the cylinder is not returning. All matching visible serial numbers. Good action, good bore, good overall. Est: $1,200 - $2,400
