Colt model 1877 .41 caliber Thunderer, storekeeper’s model, with 3-1/2” barrel, no ejector rod, nickel plated, hardrubber grip, serial #12306, with period form-fitted Mexican style western frontier holster. The pistol shows 90-95% original nickel finish, some losses on cylinder and muzzle and areas where nickel has lifted show some erosion and pinprick pitting and darkening just starting. The barrel shows 90-95% frosty original etched panel. The patent dates are fully visible and the barrel address is good. The small parts, screws, hammer, and trigger show bright original blue. The cylinder pin shows most of its dull original correct blue. The grips are good with some high point and edge wear and toning in color. The front sight has been slimmed very slightly, the action is good, bore is bright. The holster is shammy lined and is of excellent quality, in very good condition. A very nice Thunderer that probably found its way to the border states or Mexico way during the first frontier era. Factory letter confirms features, shipped Nov. 16th 1878 to St. Louis. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
