Colt model 1872 .22 caliber open top revolver, fully and finely deluxe Nimschke style original scroll engraved. Silver and gold finish, pearl grips, serial #3681. The pistol remains in original very good untouched condition with 60-80% original silver that is completely unpolished on barrel and cylinder and gone to a soft satin patina. The frame shows faint traces of gold gilt within a natural uncleaned light brass. The pearl grips are extra fat and fit impeccable and are invery good condition with some miniscule small losses at the edges. The markings are sharp, the hammer and trigger show considerable finish. The action is good, and this early first or second year production '72 is crisp overall with matching numbers and exceptional New York engraving which we attribute to the hand of Nimschke or his shop.
