Colt model 1861 Navy revolver, .36 caliber percussion, blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, serial #10985. The barrel shows 5-10% original blue drifting to an even grey-brown patina, some scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, and light cleaning long ago. The cylinder shows 60-70% original scene, some minor pitting, wear at the edges. The frame, hammer, and loading lever show 30-40% case hardening with some areas of rainbow colors where protected. The backstrap and trigger guard show 30-40% darkened silver plate. The varnish wood grips are very good plus with 75-85% original varnish. Some scratches, wear at the edges, normal aging. All matching visible numbers, tight action, bright bore. The underside of the barrel beneath the loading lever shows bright original blue. An above average 61 Navy with a nice appearance that saw honest use. Est: $1,750 - $3,500
