Colt model 1855 Root, .31 caliber percussion revolver, 3-1/2” barrel, serial #12061, with screw in cylinder, model 7. Cased with accessories. Refer Flayderman 5B-072. The pistol remains in very good to near to fine original condition showing 80-90% original blue, slight drifting to plum, some lightening at the edges, good sharp barrel address. Cylinder scene remains about 10-20% and were very light on these late production arms as the roll was worn. The varnish wood grips are very good plus and show excellent refinishing and are slightly down from the backstrap on the metal. The pistol is contained within its original to the period partition style velveteen lined case. The interior of the case remains in good to very good condition with some minor compressions, discolorations, slight areas of wear, but at least very good overall. The eagle flask is of the correct style and shows 50% varnish. The iron .31 caliber mold is very good with 50% toning blue. An original key is retained. The exterior of the box is very good with some minor scratches, storage marks, etc. A good gun in a very good box. Est: $3,500 - $7,000
