Colt, model 1855 Root .28 caliber percussion pistol with 3 ½” octagon barrel, second variation, serial #13293. The revolver is contained within an old partition style velveteen lined period case. The pistol shows traces of original blue drifting to brown, 50% light cylinder scene and visible Colt’s patent. The barrel address is sharp, the action is not working and main spring is broken. The lining of the case is good withnormal fading and fraying. The small eagle flask is good other than a broken spring and missing thumb piece. A brass .28 caliber non Colt mold is included. The case is good. From an old N.Y. collector’s estate. Est.;$900-$1,800.
