Colt model 1851 Navy revolver, 4th model, .36 caliber percussion, blue and case hardened finish, varnish wood grips, serial #108396. The revolver remains in fine to near excellent original condition with 80-90%original blue on barrel, drifting at the edges with some scratches around wedge port and just beginning normal age. The barrel address and edges are razor sharp. The cylinder retains 80% original blue juststarting to tone, age nicely. The engagement dates are fully visible on the edge of the cylinder. The frame shows 70-80% toning case hardening. The hammer and lever show 75-85% colorful case hardening. The varnish woodgrips are very good plus to near fine with 75-85% original varnish, some minor marks, and wear at the edges. All matching visible serial numbers. Interior is excellent. Vivid case hardening and blue beneath loadinglever. A very crisp 1851 Navy that would be difficult to improve upon in a serial number range that may letter, right during the Civil War.
