Colt model 1849 pocket model, .31 caliber percussion, 4” barrel, finely Gustav Young engraved, blue and case hardened finish, select burl wood grips, serial #68745. The revolver shows Samuel Colt in script on barrel, extra fancy Young style engraving, with Colt’s patent hand cut in banner at center of frame. Ornate scrolls with florals, cobwebs, parrot eagles, dog’s head, and other typical Young motifs of better quality than normally found. The barrel shows 40-60% evenly thinning and toning blue finish going to a brownish patina with some light erosion and pinprick pitting. The barrel has been fitted with a large blade and post front sight that is genuine to the period and slightly oversized. The cylinder shows 75-85% cylinder scene, some minor erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The frame and hammer show 30-50% smoky case hardening, with some light color faintly visible. The backstrap and triggerguard show 30-50% darkened original silver plate. The varnish wood grips show a deluxe grain and approx. 65-75% original varnish, some minor dings, mars, and wear at the edges. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
