Colt conversion of 1862 Pocket Navy or Police in .38 rim fire caliber with 3 ½” round barrel and 1871-72 patent dates, serial number 4904. Factory letter states shipped to J.P. Moore’s and Sons, New York, New York on January 10th , 1873 with 10 guns in shipment. The factory letter incorrectly lists the barrel length at 4 ½” which is often the case on this model conversion as the Navy’s and Police models were originally 4 ½”. The condition is fair to good with a gray brown patina finish, scattered light to moderate erosion and pitting. All matching visible serial numbers. The grips have been lightly refinished. The markings on the barrel are visible but light on the top line. The action is not working properly. With period leather holster. Est.: $300-$600
