Colt U.S. martial Second Model Dragoon percussion revolver, .44 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, “New Hampshire”-marked on left side of barrel assembly above rammer retaining screw, woodgrips, #10460. This gun is in overall very good condition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces with some scattered spots of erosion and pin prick pitting with a section of heavier pitting on a portion of thecylinder; majority of cylinder scene remains including visible “W.L. Ormsby”; some faint traces of case color on rammer, sharp markings and all serial numbers are matching except the wedge which is numbered 451 and is in similar condition to the rest of this revolver; fine grips with strong traces of both cartouches on the grips; five of six safety pins remain on the back of the cylinder. An overall very nice NewHampshire-marked Second Model Dragoon. Estimate at less than 100 produced, very rare. Est.: $16,500-$32,000.
