Colt U.S. Property-marked General Officer’s semi-auto pistol, .32 cal., 4” barrel, blue finish, checkered Colt medallion wood grips, #560133. This gun is in overall excellent condition showing little use or handling,approx. 99% original blue finish, fine bore, crisp action, sharp markings, fine grips. Accompanied by an affidavit from the consignor stating, in part, that he purchased this gun that belonged to Dr. James C. Luce, from Luce’s nephew who shared a copy of the doctor’s obituary from June 11, 1989, indicating that Luce was on the battleship U.S.S. Maryland at Pearl Harbor at the time of the Japanese attack and was wounded (forwhich he received a Purple Heart); he later was assigned to the U.S. Navy Group in China in 1943, serving behind the lines in Burma in 1944-45, as a member of the OSS Detachment 101 for combat-trained and experiencedmedical officers where he received his first Bronze Star working as the area commander and medical officer behind the Japanese lines (one news article indicates this jungle detachment was to become known as the
