Colt U.S. Martially marked 2nd Model Dragoon retaining considerable original finish with near excellent cartouched grips, serial number 9239. The barrel retains 50% to 70% original military blue finish with some scattered light to moderateerosion and pinprick pitting and most of the loss occurring on the right side of the lug. The edges and the barrel address are super crisp and sharp. The cylinder shows 50% to 70% original cylinder scene that is crisp and well defined with fullyvisible U.S.M.R. and Colts patent. The cylinder shows 50% to 70% original blue and there is an area of roughness and deep pitting which encompasses slightly less than half the cylinder and matches the aging on the barrel and the rightside of the frame probably from moisture gathered in a holster. The cylinder shows all of its original cylinder pins and bright blue on the back of the cylinder and nipples. The frame shows strong traces of muted case hardening going tosilver on the left side and the right side has gone to a light brown. The hammer and loading lever show considerable case hardening within a smoky gray patina (at least 10%-20%). The grips are near fine with well-defined cartouche on both
