Colt U.S. Artillery SAA revolver, Custer range frame, .45 cal., 5-1/2” barrel, blue finish, wood grips, #4957, in overall very good condition showing a grey patina to metal surfaces with some areas of pinprick pitting confined primarily to the cylinder and the top strap, barrel numbered 2149, trigger guard #119701, butt strap #95322, cylinder appears to be 673; bore is fair to good with some scattered pitting, patent date markings are good, barrel address is light; action is good but does not stay on full cock, some old minor mars and scratches, no visible cartouches and scattered knackering on the butt from hammering. A good looking Artillery with frame in a prime Custer serial # range! Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
