Colt U.S. Artillery Model SAA revolver, Custer range frame #5710; trigger guard #3115 (“A” inspected, backstrap #4994 (“A” inspected), cylinder #7_09 (“A” inspected); barrel #0004 (“A” inspected), “OWA” cartouche on left grip. Thisgun is in overall very good condition showing scattered areas of blue on barrel and ejector housing, traces of blue in flutes of cylinder with balance gone to a plum brown patina with some spots of erosion and pinprick pitting, areas ofblue on trigger guard and backstrap with frame displaying case colors in protected areas with balance gone to silvery toning and some scattered spots of erosion; crisp action, very good markings and very good to near fine bore; grips are goodto very good with knackering to the bottom of grips from hammering plus scattered old mars and dings from carry and storage.
