Colt Third Model Dragoon, .44 cal. percussion, extra-finely cloud scroll engraved, and attributed to Gustave Young, cased with accessories, serial #12394. This engraved Dragoon is considered by experts tobe the best condition example remaining of the 12 known specimens. The cloud scrolled Dragoons fall between number 12365 and 12410. They are among the most desirable and sought after of all Colt arms and are rare by any standard. This specimen, number 12394, shows a slightly finer grade of engraving with tighter scroll than other examples, and slightly finer detail work to the backgrounds, in our opinion. The barrelshows 95-98% bright original blue finish, with just some minor normal aging starting on the top of the barrel and a couple of very minor scratches. The cylinder shows 90-95% original blue, thinning and toning justslightly with Model USMR and Colts patent, and virtually all of its scene. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
