Colt “Texas” Patterson model, .36 caliber revolver with factory loading lever, serial #669. In very good original condition with considerable original blue finish. The Patterson retains approx. 20-30% original blue drifting to patina with some li to moderate erosion and some small areas of pinprick pitting. The edges are sharp, the barrel address is crisp, the cylinder shows 70-80% well defined cylinder scene. The grips show a select burl wood grain and 30-40% original varnish with just some even wear. The factory 3-piece loading lever is assembly numbered “27”. The pistol shows all matching visible serial numbers except wedge which is numbered “666” instead of “669” and most probably a small factory error as it would be ea to stamp a 6 rather than a 9. Advanced collectors agree that this pistol is in a serial number range that most likely went to Texas Rangers. Only approx. 15 original Texas Pattersons are known to exist with factory loading levers. The backstrap shows three drilled holes for attachment of a wire-framed shoulder stock, which is missing.
