Colt Storekeeper’s Model SAA revolver, .45 cal., 4” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #122359. This rare Colt is in overall good + condition showing approx. 25% muted and drifted blue, primarily on the barrel, with the balance of finish on barrel and cylinder gone to a brown patina, strong traces of case color in protected areas of frame and hammer, very good bore, action and markings, cylinder is consistent with the condition of the balance of the gun and is not numbered but is “D.F.C.” marked to the rear of one of the cylinder flutes. The grips are in overall good condition showing approx. 70% original finish with scattered wear, dings, mars and an old crack on the left grip from the butt to about half way up the grip. Factory letter confirms features except type of stocks “Not Listed”. The gun was shipped to the Browning Brothers in Ogden, Utah on January 19, 1889 in a group of only two guns. A really honest Storekeeper’s Model that went West during the height of outlaw activities in the “Robber’s Roost” area. Est.: $7,000-$14,000.
