Manufactured in 1888. Standard two line Hartford barrel address on top of the barrel with "COLT D.A. 38" etched on the left side of the barrel. The left side of the frame has the three line, three patent date marking. Matching serial number on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap with the assembly number "631" on the loading gate. Fitted with checkered grips with Rampant Colt imprints. With a laminated Colt factory letter informing that after a thorough search of the records no information pertaining to this revolver was found.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 60% original nickel finish with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina with some flaking (mostly at the muzzle and on the cylinder). There is some very scattered minor pitting mostly on the cylinder. The grips are fine with some high edge wear and some scattered minor handling marks, with a small chip missing on the left panel. The acid etched caliber marking is clear. Mechanically fine.
