Colt Special Model rifled musket dated 1864 on the lock with New Jersey State markings on the breech remaining in good original condition. The lock markings and Eagle on bolster are clear and fairly sharp with 1862 on the breech of the barrel and P proofed. The metal surfaces show some of their original bright going to light patina with some scattered minor pitting and erosion. The stock is good showing dings, mars, scratches and a couple of dents with a few minor losses along the ramrodchannel. The original to the period ramrod, sights and swivels are all retained. The action works well and bore is fair to good with shallow but good rifling. William A. Gary collection consigned by his estate. Est.: $900-$1800
