Colt Single action army revolver, U.S. artillery model, .45 caliber, 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, serial #139094. In fine to excellent original condition, retaining most of its originalblue and case hardening. Excellent cartouche wood grips, showing rack number “A36” on right. Probably a pre-1895 New York militia revolver, recalled and reissued as an artillery. Refer: Colt Cavalry and ArtilleryRevolvers by Kopec and Fenn, page 121, where this exact revolver is illustrated and discussed. The Colt shows 92-96% original bright blue on barrel, with correct feathering around front sight, which is itsfull unaltered height. The ejector rod housing retains 90-95% original blue with just some slight losses at the front end from holstering. The cylinder shows 90-95% original blue with some minor scratches,slight spots, and an index line between the cylinder stops. The frame shows 85-95% bright and vivid case hardening with just some slight losses and toning, mostly on the face of the left recoil shield, and almost mint on
