Colt Single Action Army revolver, serial #123830. Along with Deputy U.S. Marshall Badge, Tie Pin, and tintype of U.S. Deputy Marshall Franklin who by family tradition was one of the early lawmen in the area of Tombstone, AZ in the 1880’s. This pistol, badge, tintype and tie pin were obtained approx. 20 years ago by Lou Palmer of Palmer’s Outpost, Cody, Wyoming, directly from family decedents. The Colt was displayed by Palmer for more than 20 years at Cody shows and was never offered for sale until his estate consigned it. No documentation, as it was unclaimed in pawn. The pistol shows a late barrel and cylinder and a full reblued finish. The pistol is fitted with a pair of old ivory grips that have been broken, repaired, and reglued and darkening from being scorched. The hammer is a late non-Colt hammer. The frame, triggerguard and backstrap are all matching. The tintype shows a young man with beard with military type belt in civilian dress. The Marshall’s badge is genuine to the 19th or early 20th century and the lining has been discolored in the shape of the badge, the rear is stamped “LA. S&S Co.” Also a gold-fill tie pin is contained within the box which reportedly also
