Colt Single Action Army revolver in .38-40 caliber, 5 ½” barrel, re- nickeled finish, custom scrimshawed and smooth horn grips with portrait of steer on left and word Texas with star on right. The pistol was originally shipped blue and re-nickeled long ago probably when the grips were added. This Colt originally shipped to Jensen, King, Byrd & Company, Spokane, Washington, March 27, 1907 with 1 gun in shipment, serial number 290930. The revolver shows 90% to 95% of an old re-nickeled finish with some evidence of polishing and generally good barrel address and markings. Areas where the nickel is lost have gone to a dark patina and there is alittle bit of peel and pits on the hammer and muzzle. The grips are very well made and nicely fitted. The grips have been smoothed before the well cut scrimshaw was applied on left and right sides. The action is very good and tight, the bore is near excellent and all visible matching serial numbers. The pistol is nicely displayed in a custom display case which is in fine condition and of modern manufacture. Est.: $1400 to $2800
