Colt Single Action Army revolver, US artillery series, .45 caliber, 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, cartouched wood grips, fine to excellent condition, frame #3255, illustrated on page 90, ColtCavalry and Artillery Models by Kopec and Fenn. The revolver retains 95-98% of its original bright and still inky blue finish with vivid original case hardening, also at least 95-98%. There is a few minor nicks andvery small losses near the muzzle. The grips are fine to excellent with deep original “RAC” cartouche, 1903 date on right side, and “RAC” on bottom of each grip. The barrel is “RAC” inspected and “P” proofed. The cylinder is “RAC” marked on back with no visible serial number. The triggerguard is numbered 49421 and “HN” inspected. The buttstrap is marked 5019 and is an arsenal restamp when arsenal refinished, which is stated in thebook. The small parts are all genuine military issue. The action is crisp, the bore is excellent.
