Colt Single Action Army revolver, U.S. cavalry series, martially marked and inspected by Henry Nettleton and E.C. Wheeler, serial #49390. Listed page 59, Colt Cavalry and Artillery Revolvers by Kopec. The pistol remains in original good to very good condition showing strong cases of blue and case hardening within a natural grey to brown patina and perhaps as much as 10-20% showing in with the patina. Scattered light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting. Good edges, good markings, good overall. The grips are very good with most of cartouche and date showing on left and right grips. Small losses at each toe, even carry and wear from issue. All correct inspector’s marks, correct ejector rod housing, spring, cylinder pin, correctly marked hammer and backstrap. Good action, good bore, good overall. The front sight has been trimmed very slightly. All matching visible serial numbers. Refer Kopec Letter.
