Colt Single Action Army revolver, .45 long colt caliber, serial #229594 4-3/4” barrel, factory engraved, raised carved pearl grips, shipped to Roberts, Sanford, and Taylor, Sherman TX. August 1902, one gun in shipment. All features confirmed by factory letter. Grips just listed as pearl and raised carving not mentioned. However they fit impeccably and show no evidence of movement or repositioning on the pin. The Pistol shows classic factory engraved pattern, probably by Helfricht, and the pistol shows an almost imperceptible factory quality refinish of which 95-98% of this correct satin type nickel finish remains. The markings are sharp, the edges crisp, the sides of the frame are razor sharp. The screws show later fire-blueing. The grips are beautifully raised carved pearl with Colt escutcheon and fit impeccably and are in very good plus to near fine condition with a couple of chips to the left grip. The carving is of a superior grade and very well accomplished and still sharp. The action is crisp, the interior is very good. The Colt horse is fully defined and the edges are very sharp on this pistol. Only a few gunsmiths could possibly restore this pistol so perfectly and was probably
